The most recent revision of the world’s most prevalent quality management standard, ISO 9001 was published in September. The new standard provides an enhanced framework for risk based thinking, moving away from classical corrective/preventative action approaches.
As one of the UK’s leading digital forensics provider to law enforcement agencies, police forces and the legal profession, demonstrating first class standards in both their processes and the quality of evidence produced is crucial for Zentek. To this end, they are proud to have held certification to both ISO 9001 as well as the information security standard ISO 27001 with Alcumus ISOQAR for a number of years.
As the pilot client on Alcumus ISOQARs “Early adopter” accreditation route with UKAS, Zentek are one of the world’s first organisations to have completed the transition to the new version of the standard and have now received formal accredited certification.
Of its Early Adopter status, Nikki Samme, Alcumus ISOQAR Director says: “We are delighted to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in the world of certification by being one of only a handful of certification bodies participating in the Early Adopter scheme, and have now received our formal UKAS accreditation to the new standard”.
Samme continues; “This achievement is the culmination of a great deal of hard work by the Alcumus ISOQAR technical and auditing teams and importantly, allows us to offer accredited certification to our clients as soon as they demand it”.
Zentek’s Karen Ingham has project managed their transition to ISO 9001:2015. Of the experience, She comments “As risk-based thinking has already been introduced into the latest version of ISO 27001, we were already familiar with the need to consider business context when implementing the new version of ISO 9001:2015, which helped make the process easier.
Certification is key to Zentek’s proposition and indeed is a “passport to trade” for virtually all of their clients. Ingham continues: “producing digital forensic evidence is our core business; the nature of this means that we are tightly governed and scrutinised for having effective controls and robust processes in place to prove the integrity of the evidence we provide”.
Satisfying customer requirements isn’t the only benefit Zentek have seen since achieving certification to ISO Management systems. Ingham explains; “The benefits go far beyond winning new business – we have found that management systems have improved the professionalism of our operations and people and provided a culture of exceeding expectations. This is really helpful with employee engagement as they are clear on expectations and goals and jointly share in the success of business growth.”
